Fighting Demons
This smiling face camouflages a desert of grief- a heart bleeding from cuts engineered by scalpels clinging to the hand of people I tag loved ones.
You see, some nights, when sleep wonders upon my eyelids- I am drowning in an ocean where reeds reek of depression, and when I try to scream my own hands gag me.
Ever since, sleep has become a ritual that I am unwilling to perform. And when the sun goes down, so does my happiness.
I have lent my heart to the sun to scorch its gentleness. And my mind now sits safe in a vault of distrust.
They say my mind tripped into a game called anxiety, and all it does is joggle my brain around.
