The Poem My Mother Used to Write Me
Tell me,
have you ever
watched your mother,
on a cold afternoon— when the sun is whispering
into the atmosphere thermals of sweltering sensations—,
sang a song that is so poetic?
for me,
often times,
i hear the stanzas
of my mother’s poems— those overwhelming verses that transcend
from the colourful pages of her pensive heart as she
passes through the travails of life.
Her forcedly
induced wrinkles
is a gleeful stanza
that comes— from the platter of her heart, singing songs of
melancholy with verses that likened to a sizable sting
From the apiary of bees.
