Because it's World Book Day and William Shakespeare's birthday, we thought to share something he said about writing.

The world's most celebrated writer and author advised that "Let there be enough gall in thy ink..." You don't always have to write a honeycomb or sugarcane! If the truth chooses to be born by your pen, allow the ink to follow unhindered.

The theme for World Book Day is "Share a Story" and it feels like the right time to urge you to share your story even if you think it has more gall than the world can handle.

Writing Tip . . The urge to over-explain and litte Writing Tip
.
.
The urge to over-explain and litter one's work with unnecessary adjectives can seem irresistible and even seem like the wisest thing to do if one of your writing goals is clarity.

But Paulo Coelho, @paulocoelho says the right thing to do is to trust your readers. Never over-explain! It is not bad to give them a hint and let their imaginations pick it from there.
